CW Accident by Mengyu (unedited)

The city was awashed with thick sheets of rain, howling with boisterous winds and robbed of all colours by the ashem skies. Vehicles were moving very slowly due to the heavy downpour. The traffic police officer was directing the traffic in the middle of the road.

The trees along the road were swaying left and right violently and were about to uproot themselves. While a van was driving in a slow speed on the road, a sudden lighting tore across the ominous sky and struck the tree. Soon, the tree was wobbling.

"Careful! It's going to fall!"shouted the traffic police officer while he pointed to the tree which was threatening to fall.

Just as the traffic police officer finished his last word, the tree fell with a loud bang. The sudden boom of the fallen tree alerted many pdestrians and motorists. The van under the tree was too horrible to look at. The top of the van was totally out of shape.

"Quick! Call the police!"the traffic police officer shouted while running to the scene.

Luckily, the trunk of the tree hit the middle part of the van but not the front. The driver and the front passenger were slightly injured but were too shocked to respond. Upon seeing that, many people came out of their cars and run towards the van. One of the pedestrians fished out her handphone and dialled 999. Some of the pedestrians were trying to open the door to rescue the victims inside while other people took umbrellas to shelter them.

After a few minutes, two police cars and an ambulance came to the scene. While the police tried to direct the traffic, the paramedics put them on the stretchers and sent them to the hospital. It was then I realised that how teamwork was important.
