Picture Writing - Fire Alarm by Qi Jian (unedited)

Yan Bo and Pei bo were brothers. They studied in the same school. They were very clever but they were very mischievous. Once, they put super glue on their teacher’s chair. They were sent to the principal office and the principal gave them one more chance before they would be expelled from the school.
One day, Yan Bo and Pei Bo were walking along the classroom corridor. Out of the blue, something caught Pei Bo’s eyes. It was the newly-installed fire alarm.
Pei Bo thought of a plan. He told Yan Bo about it. A grinning sly appeared in their faces.
“What a good idea! It will surely work. Nobody will discover it is ur, ”Yan Bo muttered in enthusiasm, totally impressed with his brother’s idea.
After the English period was recess. The two boys lied to the teacher that they had to stay in the classroom because the Chinese teacher had punished them to stay in the classroom to do their homework. The teacher allowed them to stay in the classroom while the teacher took the other students for recess.
Pei Bo and Yan Bo swiveled their head to make sure all the teachers and students had gone down for recess. They started arming themselves with water bottles and hit the fire alarm.
The glass was broken into smithereens and the sound of the fire alarm reverberated through the air.
Quickly, Yan Bo took a few match sticks, lit them up and burned the teacher’s desk. The two boys quickly darted off to the field.
Within seconds, an announcement was made.
“All teachers and prefects, please escort all pupils to the field immediately,” the principal announced.
Adrenaline coursed through every vein the pupils. Some girls screamed at the top of their voices. Prefects raised their voice by a few decibels calling them to evacuate the canteen immediately.
Fire-fighters were called up to put off the fire. Yan Bi and Pei Bo quickly found their class and sat down, pretending that nothing had happened.
Smokes were billowing out of 6-9 classroom. The sirens of the fore-fighters vibrated thought the air. The fore-fighters quickly took the water hose and tried to put out the fire.
After a thorough fight with the fire, the fire were put off.
“All students, please bring your belongings and go home right away, but I want to see Yan Bo and Pei Bo,” the principal said.
Scare mingled with curiosity, the two boys went to the principla’s office. They knew they were in deep trouble.
“You two must have conspired right?” the principal bellowed like a bear.
“What do you mean? We did not do any do any bad things today,” Yan Bo denied, not at all guilty.
After much investigation, the boys admitted that they had burnt the classroom and hit the fire alarm. They would be expelled form the school. Sadness and regret engulfed them. Through this incident, the two naughty and mischievous boys turned into a kind and helpful boys.
What a miracle! A costly lemon too!
